Hi, I’m Molly.
Believe it or not, I grew up in a “dry” household… my parents barely drank. So, it’s a bit of a surprise I ended up being a Certified Sommelier and total cork dork.
After graduating with a Travel Industry Management degree from the University of Hawaii, I hosted at a wine bar. In order to get promoted to a server, it was required to attend biweekly wine class, held by our wine director.
As a detail-oriented lady, I got hooked immediately and was hungry to learn. I knew I could and would study this forever, pestering everyone I worked with for more knowledge, climbing the restaurant ladder and tasting through wine, whiskey and spirits lists.
On March 6, 2020, I passed my Certified Exam through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Ten days later, the world shut down because of Covid-19.
Close call, right?
And thus, Stars in Our Glasses was born.
